Luke Crump

Did the wine itself—its flavour, story, or current label—influence your artwork?

Allll mY Ideeaz arre Thee BESTEST *hiccup* - hah.
as with most of my pieces I tied to include a few wine-themed easter eggs, values and fun stuff that makes Paso-Primero ‘pop’ :)

How did it feel to be confined to a 11cm x 10cm box?

Like a wild tiger, entrapped in a tremendously tiny wine-label shaped cage ;)

As I used a digital medium for my pieces, it meant I could scale, zoom and pretend the space was larger.

Sometimes it’s tricky working at smaller scales - less space to hide!

When is the perfect moment to drink your wine?

As soon as it’s cold enough to enjoy!!

For me, it’s best shared outside under the (rare) British sunshine, with friends, family..pets

Having said that, a tent-warmed glass of white in a rainy festival tent can also be just as memorable :)

A 20-something, pen wielding artist!

Luke is perhaps best known for his black and white ‘doodle’ style where he weaves intricate and imaginative worlds alongside stylised characters, dusted off with a few creative visual explosions! And cats. Quite a few cats…
